Products & Technology
7 questionsIndoor LED displays are designed for controlled environments with lower ambient light. They typically operate at 800–1,500 nits brightness and use finer pixel pitches (P1.2–P3) for close-range viewing clarity.
Outdoor LED displays are weatherproofed to IP65 or higher, operate at 5,000–8,000 nits to remain visible in direct sunlight, and use wider pixel pitches (P4–P10) suited to longer viewing distances. RST manufactures both categories from our Kollam facility.
Pixel pitch determines the minimum comfortable viewing distance. As a guide:
- P1.2–P1.8 — control rooms, boardrooms (1–3 m)
- P2.5–P3 — retail interiors, lobbies (3–6 m)
- P4–P5 — large halls, auditoriums (5–10 m)
- P6–P8 — semi-outdoor, large venue applications
- P8–P10 — outdoor billboards, façades (10 m+)

We achieve this through high-quality LED chips, engineered thermal management in cabinet design, and multi-stage quality validation protocols aligned to ISO 9001 standards.
Our outdoor displays operate at 5,000–8,000 nits, ensuring full visibility in direct sunlight. Brightness is automatically adjusted by integrated ambient light sensors to reduce power consumption and LED stress during low-light conditions. All outdoor panels carry an IP65 weatherproofing rating as standard.
Yes. Our outdoor displays are engineered specifically for Indian conditions — high humidity, monsoon rainfall, and ambient temperatures up to 55°C. Cabinet construction uses marine-grade aluminium with powder coating, and all internal electronics are protected to IP65. We have active installations in coastal environments, high-altitude sites, and industrial settings across the country.
LED video walls use arrays of self-emissive LED modules with no bezels between cabinets, delivering seamless images at any scale and brightness up to 8,000 nits — suitable for high-ambient-light and outdoor environments. LCD video walls are assembled from fixed-size flat panels with visible bezels between screens, limiting seamlessness and maximum configurable size.
Key advantages of LED over LCD for commercial applications:
- Scalability — LED cabinets can be assembled to any custom dimension and aspect ratio; LCD panels come in fixed sizes
- Brightness — LED achieves 5,000–8,000 nits vs. 500–700 nits for LCD

- Maintenance cost — individual LED modules are field-replaceable; LCD panels typically require full-panel replacement
For most large-format commercial and public display applications above 4 sqm, LED video walls are the preferred choice.
Three primary factors determine the right display size:
- Viewing distance — screen height should be approximately one-quarter to one-third of the maximum viewing distance. A 3 m tall display works comfortably for viewing distances of 9–12 m.
- Content type — data-heavy content (dashboards, text) requires more screen area per viewer than video or image-led content.
- Architectural balance — the display should fill roughly 40–60% of the wall or façade it occupies for visual harmony.

Installation & Deployment

Yes. Every project starts with a full structural survey of the proposed mounting location. We assess wall or structure load capacity, anchor point specifications, cable routing, power supply proximity, and viewing angle optimisation. Structural drawings and load calculations are included in the project documentation provided before work begins.
Yes. Our installation and commissioning teams operate across all major Indian cities and states. Displays are transported from our Kollam manufacturing facility to any location in India. For remote or difficult-access sites, we coordinate local civil and electrical support to ensure clean, compliant installation.
Approximate consumption at average brightness:

Full electrical load calculations are provided at the survey stage. All RST displays include surge protection and are compatible with standard 230V/50Hz Indian supply.

Support & Warranty
4 questionsAll RST displays carry a standard 1-year comprehensive on-site warranty covering manufacturing defects, panel failures, and control system faults. Extended warranty contracts of 2–5 years are available. Our warranty includes a defined response SLA — critical faults are attended within 48 hours, and replacement modules are dispatched from our Kollam facility stock.
Under standard warranty and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC):
- Remote diagnostic support — within 4 business hours
- On-site attendance in Kerala — within 24–48 hours
- On-site attendance in other states — within 48–72 hours
Faster guaranteed response times are available under extended SLA contracts.
Yes. RST Annual Maintenance Contracts cover quarterly preventive visits, cleaning, pixel calibration, firmware updates, and emergency call-out support. AMCs significantly reduce unexpected downtime and extend display lifespan. Multi-year contracts are available at preferential rates.
RST LED displays are modular by design. Individual LED modules, driver cards, and power supply units are field-replaceable without removing the entire display. We maintain a spare-parts inventory at our Kollam facility for all active product lines. Module replacement is a standard service call typically completed within one visit.
